Dr. Hill is a Professor Emerita at the University of Southern Mississippi School of Education. She has published extensive, authored books, chapters, and journal articles, chaired and served on more than 100 dissertation committees, and guided several students in publishing articles from her dissertation.
Dr. Conceição is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Administrative Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is the author of numerous books and publications. She has been the major professor for 15 doctoral students and a committee member for 26 doctoral dissertation committees.
Dr. Wheat is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Student Affairs and Higher Education at the University of West Alabama. Her research agenda focuses on the experiences of top-level female leaders in university settings. Based on her award-winning dissertation, Pathways to the University Presidency: A Qualitative Inquiry into University Women Leaders’ Career Paths and Presidential Aspirations, Wheat has published five articles, one of which was reprinted in a qualitative research text.
Dr. Shepherd is a historian who studies the political history of the American academy, especially its relationship to the 20th-century conservative movement. Based on her dissertation, Shepherd’s first book is Resistance from the Right: Conservatives and the Campus Wars (University of North Carolina Press, 2023). Her work and commentary have been featured in The Washington Post, The Atlantic, TIME Magazine, NPR, POLITICO, and The Nation. Shepherd is an instructor at the University of New Orleans School of Education and an IUPUI-Society for US Intellectual History Community Scholar.
