How are older adults using technology, and what can we do to support them? Join us for a 30-minute webinar that reframes digital literacy for adults 55+ from an asset-based perspective. Explore how older adults are meaningfully engaging with digital tools and discover practical strategies for supporting their learning.
Older adults are often portrayed as being left behind in the digital age, yet global research tells a different story. Adults 55+ are actively navigating technology in community-based and nonformal programs—whether in libraries, senior centers, lifelong learning institutes, or digital inclusion courses. This webinar reframes deficit-based narratives and shares research-based insights on older adults’ digital literacy learning, including how they approach new tools such as artificial intelligence. Drawing from a scoping review and community-based examples, this session will highlight effective and inclusive strategies for designing digital skills programs that are supportive, empowering, and accessible.
In this session, the author will briefly present key concepts and strategies, followed by audience participation and Q&A.
